Mission Statement


The information listed below is from the packet you would receive if you came to the school office. You must get these papers from your visit. You can not register on-line at this time. Use this list as a guideline once you have received the packet from the school office.

We are glad you are planning to enroll your child in the First United Methodist School/Child Care Center for the year 2008 - 2009. We appreciate the confidence in us which you demonstrate by placing your children in our care. We will guard this trust very carefully as we love and teach your children academics together with spiritual and moral values.

Returning Students
1. Fill out Registration Card (front & back).
2. Fill out Emergency Medical Release Form (must be notarized).
Notaries are available in the school/child care office

3. Read pamphlet “Know Your Child’s Day Care Center”(preschool only).
4. Sign Pledge of Support statement.
5. Sign PE Form (elem. only).
6. Sign Photo/Video Release Form.
7. Sign Acceptable Use Policy (elem. only).
8. Immunization and Physical forms must be current.
9. Placement test for Kindergarten.

New Students
1. Fill out Registration Card (front & back).
2. Fill out Emergency Medical Release Form (must be notarized).

5. Sign PE Form (elem. Only).

9. Submit copy of birth certificate, due on the day of registration.
10. Turn in FL Dept. Of Health Immunization record and physical form by June 1st or child will not be admitted to school.
11. Placement test for K – 5th Grades.
12. Complete background screening form to attend and field trips or classroom activities. Cost $8.00.This form may be picked up in the school office.


Financial Information
1. The registration and book/supply/computer fees are non-refundable. Registration fee must be paid at the time of registration. Book/supply/computer fee must be paid by June 1st.

2. School tuition is an annual fee which may be paid in 10 equal payments. In the 10-month plan, the first of the ten monthly tuition payments is due by August 1st. If the annual tuition is paid in full no later than August 1st, there is a 2% discount. All payments are due by the 1st of the month. Payments are considered late on the 5th of the month. A $20 late fee per child per month will be assessed to late payments. Please make checks payable to: FUMS.

3. Child Care tuition is a weekly charge which is due each Monday. It is considered late, and a $5.00 late fee per child will be added, if not paid by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Please make checks payable to: FUMCCC.

4. There is a 10% tuition discount for First United Methodist Church of Kissimmee members and a 10% tuition discount for those who have more than one child enrolled. Maximum discount of 15%. No discounts apply to Parents Day Out.


General Information
1. School hours for preschool are 8:30am - 12:00pm.

2. School hours for K-2nd grades are 8:20am - 2:50pm.

3. School hours for 3rd - 5th grades are 8:20am - 3:00pm.

4. The school program consists of: 2-day 3–year-olds; 5-day 3-year-olds; 3-day 3-year-olds; 5-day 4-year-olds, and K – 5th grades. Students must attain the appropriate age on or before September 1st for the registered class/grade.

5. Parents are asked not to make requests for specific teachers.

6. The First United Methodist School has adopted standardized mix-and-match school attire beginning in kindergarten. The uniform supplier is Sir Walter Uniforms. Click here for the Uniform Policy.

7. Preschoolers are to purchase the school spirit t-shirt (REQUIRED for field trips and class/group pictures).

8. Parent/Student handbooks are provided at the beginning of each school year. This handbook contains information on all school/child care policies and procedures. The inserted sheet acknowledging receipt and agreement must be signed and returned.

9. Placement tests are required for all students entering kindergarten and all new students entering K – 5th grades.

10. All preschoolers MUST be toilet trained. No pull-ups or diapers.


Child Care Center Programs

The Child Care Center offers the following programs:

1. Before/After School Care (K-5th) 6:30 am to 6 pm

2. Before/After Extended Care (Preschool 3&4) 6:30 am - 6 pm

3. Lunch bunch (Preschool 3 & 4) 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

4. School Buddies (Preschool 3&4) 12:00 pm to 2:45 pm
