POLICY
2010– 2011
First United Methodist
School requires students in kindergarten through sixth grade to wear uniforms
Monday through Friday. Only uniforms from the official supplier are acceptable.
The official uniform supplier is Sir Walter Uniforms. Uniform sale dates to be
announced. Their toll free number is 1-800-621-8263. You can also access Sir

Uniform Choices:
*Red, Navy, gray, or white short-sleeved polo
* White or navy long-sleeved polo
*Navy and white striped rugby shirt (long sleeve only)
*Plaid jumper (must wear polo shirt
under jumper)
Ø Plaid skort
Ø Navy or khaki shorts
Ø Navy or khaki pants (flat or pleated front
for girls, pleated front for boys)
Ø 2nd -6th
grade girls -Navy or khaki skirt
Ø 2nd-6th
grade girls -Navy or khaki skorts
Ø 2nd-6th
grade girls -Navy or khaki capris
Ø Belts for pants and shorts or other
items having belt loops are a required part of the uniform.

Foot
and Leg-wear:
Ø White, brown, black, or navy
Ø closed toe and back
Ø low sole and low heel
Ø no glitter or floral sneakers or
shoes
Ø Boots are not allowed.
Ø Plain white, brown, black, or navy socks
Ø Socks must show above edge of shoe.
Ø Girls may wear solid white,
navy, brown or black, tights during cold weather.
Ø Leggings are not allowed unless
utilizing a No Uniform Pass.
Other
Reminders:
Ø Uniforms are required for field
trips unless otherwise stated.
Ø Only jackets, sweaters, and
sweatshirts purchased from Sir Walter may be worn during school hours for
warmth.
Ø In case of severe weather (45
degrees and below), winter coats may be worn when outside the classroom.
Ø Uniforms purchased at other
locations are unacceptable apparel for school.
Ø Individual and group pictures
require the school uniform excluding sweat tops and rugby shirts.
Ø No Uniform dress is “modest Christian apparel.
Please consult handbook guidelines.
Scouts: Students currently enrolled in a bona fide scouting program may
wear the official scout uniform or the official scout t-shirt with Sir Walter
Uniform pants or shorts on the day the scout meeting is held. Camp
T-shirts, soapbox derby T-shirts, etc. are not allowed unless the child is
using a No Uniform Pass for the day.
